Andy Diagnosed with BDD

Andy came to bed the other night with yet another book. This makes book number nine that he's reading at one time. We've decided that he has BDD -- Book Deficit Disorder! With this disease a person is unable to focus on reading just one book at a time, but instead needs to read multiple books at the same time. We've been told there's no cure.

This must be a family trait. I usually have piles of books beside my bed, stuffed under the couch, you name the books are there. My kids are the same way. Anna has dyslexia and since she has learned how to "learn" she usually has 3 or 4 books going on at once. It is a running joke with Troy and the kids about my book habit. Tell Andy that he shouldn't feel shame in the dysfunctional disease. Hey, we could be ax murderers.

I have the same disease although not as severe. It's usually between 3-4 books at a time (not counting magazines). = )
